Truro’s First Birthday! And here we are! After 12 months of being open, the Truro Shopmobility scheme has just reached its first birthday.
After a busy year of raising awareness for the scheme we are proud to be able to announce the launch of our new website, which we hope you will all find helpful and informative. Here are just a few highlights of our activities throughout the year; Cornwall Council Transport Department helped issue leaflets advertising Go! Truro, as well as the other Go! Schemes in Newquay and Penzance (you can find links to their websites on our website) in Cornwall at the Royal Cornwall Show in Wadebridge this year. During the Summer months, many of you would have noticed us raising awareness for the Go! Truro scheme on Truro Piazza. It was a very successful initiative and one we aim to repeat next year. We would like to thank the Truro Farmer’s Market for the chance to be able to use some of their tables and tent to help us stand out. Recently we have just initiated a new advertising campaign for the scheme, which will see leaflets about the Go! Schemes in Cornwall appear in Volunteer Cornwall Voluntary Driver’s Cars, Doctors Surgeries and other local centres in Cornish Communities. This leaflet, funded by Volunteer Cornwall, which also supplies information about their Voluntary Car Scheme, lists all the telephone numbers for contacts of each of the Go! Shopmobility schemes in the County. Go! Truro is still actively seeking any one who wishes to volunteer for the scheme at their offices at Moorfield Car Park. For more information about volunteering for the scheme, please contact Truro Volunteer Centre on 01872 263728. Finally we would like to thank all of our supporters, who we have listed on our site, and the local businesses for their continued support, assistance and advice. We would also like to thank all of our members who have joined us this year and have supported us through usage of the scheme and advertising through word of mouth. We hope to see you all during our year! |
